Asking for Adjustments

Your teacher works really hard to plan your music education. There is a long range plan and weekly plans to reach the big goals. So, what should you do if you are overwhelmed or bored? Talk to your teacher. If you are overwhelmed, talk to your teacher and work together to figure out a solution. Don't just not practice. If we need to break it into smaller chunks for each week, we can, and I can adjust the timetable for long term goals. Slow progress is always better than no progress. If you are getting bored, talk to your teacher. We can always find more challenges for you, so please ask for them. You may have to do things that are boring to build skill, but we can find ways to make it more interesting and still make progress. Just don't give up doing the boring things for the fun ones.

Ultimately, the progress you make is completely dependent on how much you work outside of lessons. Help me help you be as successful as possible by communicating what you can realistically handle.
